Junior Galette looking bad on social media again

It’s not that this video is that bad, it’s that it’s consistent with a general lack of judgement. Once again Galette’s social media presence is being discussed after he had already deleted his twitter account in mid January stemming from his alleged domestic dispute. Here is the video in question below. Be warned, it contains profanity:

Galette would be well served to delete his Instagram account as well.

I know many of you are saying “let’s just cut this guy”, but that’s not at all possible. Unfortunately the big contract he signed last offseason combined with the huge bonus he just received makes that prohibitive. Currently the Saints have almost $3.9 million in cap space for 2015 and because of the bonus money paid to Galette which for cap purposes is spread out over the life of his deal, cutting him now would put them almost $7.5 Million OVER the cap. Yes, you read that correctly, cutting him comes with more than a $10 million cap hit. That means the Saints would have to re-structure contracts or cut other players in an effort to cut ties with Galette now. And after all the deals they’ve already re-structured this offseason, it’s hard to see them creating $7.5 million in space without touching Drew Brees’s deal. And before you make the suggestion that he be traded, no one is taking on that contract while giving away compensation for a player that now has a pectoral injury. The reality is that parting with Galette can’t happen until 2016. A cut next year isn’t great either, but at least the Saints would save ~$1.5 million while absorbing a dead money of over $4 million. So at least cutting Galette in 2016 would result in minimal savings.
