Saints Nation’s final 53 man roster prediction

capspenspoop

The Saints are down to 75 players which means they’ll need to make 22 more moves to get down to 53 after the Packers game tomorrow. Here are my predictions on the final 53 below:

S Jairus Byrd will remain on PUP – which means he’ll be inactive for 6 weeks and won’t count as a roster spot.

CB Keenan Lewis will be placed on injured reserved with a return designation. That means won’t count against the roster but can return.

TE Orson Charles is suspended week 1 and won’t count against the roster, so the Saints will decide to either keep him or cut him at after the first game.

Other cuts: LB Justin Anderson, RB Edwin Baker, QB Ryan Griffin, FB Toben Opurum, WR Seantavius Jones, WR Josh Morgan, TE Chris Manhertz, TE Alex Smith, C Mike Golic Jr., T Bryce Harris, T Nick Beckton, G Cyril Lemon, G Sean Hickey, DT Ashaad Mabry, DE Tavaris Barnes, CB Sammy Seamster, CB Brian Dixon, LB Henry Coley, LB Jerry Franklin, K Zach Hocker

53 Man Roster:

QB (3) Drew Brees, Luke McCown, Garrett Grayson

RB (5) Mark Ingram, Khiry Robinson, C. J. Spiller, Tim Hightower, Marcus Murphy

FB (1) Austin Johnson

WR (5) Marques Colston, Brandin Cooks, Brandon Coleman, Joe Morgan, Willie Snead

TE (2) Benjamin Watson, Josh Hill

C (2) Max Unger, Senio Kelemete

G (3) Jahri Evans, Tim Lelito, Mike McGlynn

T (3) Zach Strief, Terron Armstead, Andrus Peat

DL (8) Cameron Jordan, Akiem Hicks, John Jenkins, Kevin Williams, Bobby Richardson, Tyeler Davison, Parys Haralson, Kaleb Eulls

LB (7) Stephone Anthony, Kasim Edebali, David Hawthorne, Ramon Humber, Hau’oli Kikaha, Davis Tull, Dannell Ellerbe

CB (5) Brandon Browner, Delvin Breaux, Damian Swann, Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Kyle Wilson

S (5) Rafael Bush, Kenny Vaccaro, Kenny Phillips, Jamarca Sanford, Pierre Warren

K (1) Dustin Hopkins

P (1) Thomas Morstead

LS (1) Justin Drescher

You’ll notice 23 moves and 52 people on the roster – that’s because I believe they’ll add a tight end at final cuts that improves their current depth.
