Top 10 All Decade Saints Players – 2010s

rexall

These are the top 10 players since the Super Bowl. Thanks for following along, I hope you enjoyed this series!

1. Drew Brees, QB – Hasn’t declined much if at all since the Saints won the Super Bowl. Still putting up elite numbers.

2. Jahri Evans, G – In six seasons from 2010 to 2015, he made the Pro Bowl 5 times. Now sure, he declined and some of that might have been based on reputation, but there’s no denying that in his prime he was the best guard in the entire league.

3. Jimmy Graham, TE – He made 3 Pro Bowls in 5 seasons and re-defined the term “receiving tight end”. He holds the Saints record in a single season for most catches (99), receiving touchdowns (16) and is second all time in team history in career receiving touchdowns.

4. Marques Colston, WR – Like Evans our recent memory of him is one of decline but it’s important to remember that over the last 6 seasons he’s gone over 1,000 yards three times and over 900 yards twice. Imagine how many receivers can be described as declining when they have 900+ yards receiving in 5 out of 6 seasons.

5. Cameron Jordan, DE – He’s played five years for the Saints so far and has made 2 Pro Bowls. He’s already 13th in team history in career sacks and he’ll be moving up that list quickly.

6. Thomas Morstead, P – In 6 seasons he’s made 1 Pro Bowl, broken the NFL record for touchbacks on kickoffs in a season, and almost broke the NFL record for net average yards punting in a season. He’s as good as it gets.

7. Jonathan Vilma, LB – He was still extremely good in 2010 when he made the Pro Bowl. Played 4 years with the Saints in the 2010s but his knee gave out quickly. At his best he was as good as it got.

8. Carl Nicks, G – He played just 2 seasons in the 2010s with the Saints but made the Pro Bowl both years before going to Tampa in free agency for major money as the highest paid guard in NFL history.

9. Jermon Bushrod, T – Also made 2 Pro Bowls in 3 seasons before leaving in free agency for big money with the Bears.

10. Mark Ingram, RB – He’s still the lead back so he can build on this resume but so far he has 1 Pro Bowl in 5 seasons.
