2012 has been a memorable year in the world of football, especially in Major League Soccer. During these last five days of the year we will be counting down the top five games of the year. Today we bring you the number 3 game, where the league's worst team can have its moment.
#3 -Toronto FC 3-2 Vancouver Whitecaps – July 11
Toronto FC finished last in Major League Soccer with just 23 points from 34 matches. They had a coaching change after the worst start in league history. They also played in one of the matches of the season, coming out with a memorable win.
After rookie Darren Mattocks opened the scoring for Vancouver, Toronto went in front with goals from Luis Silva and Torsten Frings in stunning fashion. Toronto took their lead into stoppage time and were surely headed to a big win over their Canadian rivals. In stepped Mattocks again with one of the goals of the season, leaping over everyone in BMO Field to pull the Whitecaps level in the 91st minute. If that wasn't enough drama for this match, former Whitecap Terry Dunfield nodded home a Frings corner in the 95th minute.
