New MLS club New York City FC have signed their second designated player in English midfielder Frank Lampard.
The former Chelsea man joins Spanish striker David Villa at the new New York City club which begins MLS play in 2015.
With Lampard and Villa signed, many will look for Jason Kreis’ club to make a lot of noise in their debut season. These stars are big in determining New York City’s success but filling out the roster will be the most important factor. With an additional designated player spot and the ability to grab quality players in the expansion draft, NYCFC is definitely setting themselves up for a smashing debut.
