Today will be the first time the Jacksonville Armada take the pitch and they will take on a MLS side, the Philadelphia Union. This game will be a great test to see where the Armada stack up against their MLS opposition.

The Armada have some quality players that you should watch for in todays game and for the upcoming season.

The first player to watch for is Jemal Johnson. He is a striker and comes to the club with NASL experience (playing with the Strikers and Cosmos). When he played for the Cosmos he came off the bench and had a limited role, but with the Armada he will play an important role.

Another player to watch for is Marcos Flores, an Argentinian midfielder that recently played for the Newcastle Jets in the Australian A-League. Flores is going to be a strong part of the Armada’s midfield. Marcos may not be a big goalscorer but he will contribute to the team by being a playmaker.

All the hard work that was put in from the first day they announced a club in Jacksonville, pays off today. This is their reward, to see the pieces they put together play on the pitch. Their is excitement from fans not just about this match but for the upcoming season.

There are going to be some sellouts for Armada home matches and that just shows the excitement for the club in this city. For fans out of state that can’t make it to todays historical match, no worries it is available on a live stream on this site: yourjax.com.
