The Philadelphia Eagles came into Saturday hoping that the Jets could rebound and beat the Giants in the battle for New York. Well, that didn’t happen as the Giants beat the Jets 29-14; thus, eliminating the Eagles from playoff contention.
As the game got underway, it seemed like the Jets were going to take control as they got on the board first, with a five yard TD pass from QB Mark Sanchez to RB Josh Baker, leading 7-0. But the game totally changed as Giants QB Eli Manning in the 2nd quarter found WR Victor “Salsa” Cruz for a 99 yard TD pass. From that point on, the Jets had many miscues on offense from holding, to offensive pass interference on WR Plaxico Burress, a safety, and even fumbling the snap on the goal line.
The Giants capitalized on those miscues in the 2nd half with two Ahmad Bradshaw rushing tds and forcing Mark Sanchez into two interceptions.
Next week at MetLife Stadium, the New York Giants will take on the Dallas Cowboys for the NFC East division crown.
