According to multiple reports and sources, such as Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors and FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal, former Philadelphia Phillies OF Pat Burrell has retired.


Burrell played 12 seasons in the majors and spent most of his career with the Philadelphia Phillies, after being drafted by them number 1 overall in 1998. In 2008, Burrell got his first World Series ring with the Phillies and then, in 2009, he signed with the Tampa Bay Rays. Burrell moved on from the Rays and joined the San Francisco Giants in 2010 and got his second World Series ring.


Burrell finished his career with a .253 batting average, 292 homeruns, and 976 RBIs.
