Tonight, the Philadelphia 76ers loss to the New York Knicks in an Atlantic Division showdown 82-79. Just like the Heat game, the Sixers had another bad first quarter. In the first quarter vs. the Knicks tonight, the Sixers only scored 11 points and did not score their first points until 6:18 left in the 1st quarter. The Sixers in this game got outscored in every quarter but the 3rd; in the third quarter, they were plus seven in points.
The leading scorer for the Knicks tonight was PF Amare Stoudamire. Stoudamire had 21 points on 8 of 14 shooting and also added 9 rebounds. On the other hand, SF Carmelo Anthony only had 10 points on 5 of 15 shooting tonight.
For the Sixers tonight, PF Elton Brand was their top performer as he had posted a double-double consisting of 12 points and 12 rebounds. Not a lot of contribution came from the “Night Shift” tonight as they only added 33 points.
The Sixers next game is on Friday night vs. the Boston Celtics at 8pm at the Wells Fargo Center. The game can be seen on ESPN and Comcast Sportsnet.
