UMass pulls the upset on the No. 1 seed Temple Owls

In the first game of the A-10 Tournament Quarterfinals, the No. 8 seed UMass Minutemen defeated the No. 1 seed Temple Owls 77-71.


For the Owls, coming off the bench was G Khalif Wyatt, who was the leading scorer with 15 points, 5 steals, and 4 assists. G Ramone Moore, who heated up during the second half had 14 points and was 3 of 5 from three point range.


For the UMass Minutemen, leading the way was the combination of guards Jesse Morgan and Chaz Williams. So. G Jesse Morgan led the Minutemen in scoring with 21 points and 4 rebounds, but their go to guy So. G Chaz Williams had 20 points and 10 assists. Temple finishes up the regular and conference tournament season (24-7, 13-3 A 10).


The No. 8 seed UMass Minutemen will advance to the semifinals and take on the winner of the No. 4 seed St. Bonaventure Bonnies vs. the No. 5 seed St. Joseph’s Hawks.
