After losing to the Milwaukee Bucks 97-93 on Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers did a complete 360 and defeated the Boston Celtics 103-71 tonight.
The leading scorer for the Celtics was SF Paul Pierce, who had 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. The Sixers defense held Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo to a combination of 15 points. From the field, the Celtics only shot 35 percent and did not make a three point field goal.
For the Sixers, even though they were without F Thaddeus Young due to an illness, Evan Turner had a career game. SG Evan Turner, who was in the starting lineup for the second game in the row, had a career high of 26 points and also added 9 rebounds and 2 assists. This what we as Sixers fans needed to see from the #2 overall pick from a couple of years ago. He has potential to put up these numbers consistently but it will take more than two games as a starter.
The Sixers (23-17) will play again on Friday night as they take on the Utah Jazz (19-19) at 7:00 pm at the Wells Fargo Center.
