The MMMVP for the week of April 23rd-April 29th goes to Flyers C Danny Briere. Briere deserves this award after scoring two goals (one in the second period and one in overtime) to defeat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Those two goals in yesterday’s game gave Briere seven goals in the this year’s playoffs. But history has shown that Briere has been money in the playoffs. According to CSNPhilly.com, Briere in 104 postseason games has 106 points and in his last 41 postseason games, Briere has 25 goals.
In the MLB, Reggie Jackson is called Mr. October and Derek Jeter is called Mr. November, but Danny Briere is called Mr. Playoffs.
