Let’s go Celtics! Today, is the start of the Eastern Conference Semifinals as the Boston Celtics will play the Philadelphia 76ers. Both of these teams have played three times together over the regular season with the Sixers having an advantage of 2-1. The Sixers have a seven point per game lead over the veteran Celtics. However, the Celtics has a better field goal percentage over the young Sixers. Also, they have a better free throw percentage and come short when the Sixers out rebound them on the against the boards. In addition, if the Celtics can limit their turnovers.
However, the Celtics have to control the tempo of the game because we know that the Sixers are a young team, who came run up and down the court. The key match-ups in the game will be Andre ‘Iggy’ Iguodala and Paul ‘The Truth’ Pierce and with those two great guards it will be a defensive match-up for the both of them. However, if the offense is ran through Kevin Garnett, which allowed him to score 28 points and 14 rebounds in game six against the Hawks it will be a interesting series.
Now that this is round 2 of the playoffs is here be sure to watch for a very competitive series. The Sixers have not been to the second round of the playoffs since 2003 and the Celtics will be sure to use their previous playoff experience to advance to the next round. My predictions for this game is that the Boston Celtics will win in 6! Be sure to watch tonight’s game on TNT at 8pm!
