Last night, Roy Halladay pitched in his first game since May 27th for the Phillies Single-A affiliate, the Clearwater Threshers. Halladay looked a bit shaky at the beginning of the game. It took him 23 pitches to get out of the first inning (15 were strikes). Halladay also gave up one run; this run was unearned though, due to an error. Most of Doc’s 61 pitches that were thrown throughout his brief 3-inning stint were up in the zone. Despite the location of the pitches, Halladay was only hit 3 times. He was tagged for only one extra base hit, which was the double that knocked in the only run on his line score. After he was taken out of the game, Doc went to the bullpen to throw. The Threshers eventually defeated the Fort Myers Miracle 4-3 in 12 innings. Halladay is expected to throw a bullpen session this weekend in Colorado. If all goes well, Halladay will likely make a start for the Phillies when the travel to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers next week.
