She is definitely no stranger to the biggest stage in the world or its most desired prize for that matter. In this summer’s Olympic Games taking place in London, Olympic gold medalist, Allyson Felix, will once again represent the United States as she gets set to compete in the women’s 200 meter sprint. During the Olympic trials just a few weeks ago, Felix blazed past other potential competitors as she set her personal best time at 21.69 which was the third fastest time ever ran by an American and just the fourth fastest time ever ran in the world.

Twenty-six year old Allyson Felix is returning for her third stint in the Olympic games. During the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, she won her first every Olympic medal as she finished second in the 200 meter sprint walking away with a silver medal. She then returned in Beijing in 2008 winning another 200 meter silver medal and a gold medal in the 4×400 meter relay. This year she just missed qualifying for the 100 meter sprint after initially tying for the third spot before losing the runoff to Jeneba Tarmoh. Despite that close loss, Felix looks to reign supreme in the 200 meter event.

Aside from her Olympic glory, Allyson Felix has a decorated resume behind her including fourteen gold medals in various track and field competitions dating back to her gold medal victory in the World Youth Championships when she was just 13 years old. She would go on to become a six-time USA Outdoor 200 meter champion as well as a three-time World Outdoor 200 meter champion making her the second woman to ever win three gold medals at the same World Outdoor Championship in 2007. Since then, she has continuously competed all around the world establishing a big name for herself.

One thing that should never be taken lightly is Allyson Felix’s size. At just 5’6″ and 125 pounds, it is reported that she can leg press 700 pounds and dead lift about 245 pounds. The only thing that may be stronger than Allyson’s legs is her determination. Look for the American track star to add to her already established international glory this summer at the 2012 Olympic games in London.
