Young but Experienced

Young but Experienced

The Philadelphia 76ers, as of now, will be entering the 2012-2013 NBA seasons’ October training camp with 10 players 27-years-old or younger (13 total players on the current roster).

Despite the plethora of young players, only three of them have little-to-no-experience in the NBA (two rookies and one second-year player).

This young team will be led into the upcoming season by a 24-year-old two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers in Andrew Bynum.

Bynum, who is more than excited to finally be the face of his team’s franchise, played in his first season last year where injuries were virtually non-existent.

He averaged 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds a night in 60 regular season games last season, and averaged 17 and 11 in the playoffs.

This new roster also features 11 men who have playoff experience, including veteran guard Jason Richardson.

Richardson, who was apart of the blockbuster trade that landed Bynum in Philly, will undoubtedly be playing with a chip on his shoulder during the 2012-2013 season to prove that he is not a “throw-in” player that just helped pull this deal off.

All in all, there is a lot of potential going into this upcoming season for the Sixers simply because of all the buzz created by the number of off-season additions this franchise has made.
