In a Sunday afternoon matinee, the Philadelphia 76ers traveled to Brooklyn to take on the Nets. This was the first meeting this season between the two teams. The Sixers are coming off a win on Friday night versus the Atlanta Hawks, where there was complete dominance!
In this game it was the complete opposite as the Nets dominated the Sixers in all four quarters defeating them 95-92. The Sixers tried to comeback at the end but they could not stop Nets’ shooting guard Joe Johnson. Johnson had 22 points and 7 rebounds and was 3 of 5 from the three point line.
Deron Williams wasn’t much of a story but Gerald Wallace was all over the court. Wallace would be short of a triple-double as he would compile 14 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
For the Sixers, point guard Jrue Holiday had a phenomenal game with 24 points, nine assists, and six rebounds. Thaddeus Young also had another double-double this afternoon with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
This was the first game of the Sixers’ eight game road trip and next up they will take on the Memphis Grizzlies at 8:00 pm on Wednesday night.
