The Boston Celtics took a trip to MSG to play the New York Knicks on Monday evening. The C’s were without Rajon Rondo as he was suspended in the previous game for bumping an official. The Celtics started Avery Bradley in place of his absence.

Meanwhile, The Celtics and Knicks played an intense game that ended up on a sea-saw battle until Paul Pierce hit a dagger with 45 seconds left.  However, Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony got into an altercation late in the 4th quarter. These two went back and forth and eventually were given a double technical. The top scorers for the Celtics were Paul Pierce with 23 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds. Also, Kevin Garnett had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assist. Jeff Green finished with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

The top scorers for the Knicks were Carmelo Anthony with 20 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. J.R. Smith finished with 24 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds. The final score of the game was 102-96.

This was the first time these two teams met during the regular season. Even though the Celtics may be old, the Knicks have something coming for them when they will face the Celtics three more times before the season ends. The Celtics look forward to increase their winning streak as they play the Suns tomorrow evening.
