Nick Foles Goes on IR, Eagles re-sign Antonio Dixon

This morning the Philadelphia Eagles made some more roster moves. They placed rookie quarterback Nick Foles on Injured Reserve with a broken hand and then with a roster spot open they brought back defensive tackle Antonio Dixon and signed him to a two year contract.

Dixon played with the Eagles from 2009-2011 and was actually a dominant force in the middle of the defensive line. But Dixon missed most of the 2011 season with torn triceps that he suffered on October 2nd versus the San Francisco 49ers.

In terms of this season, Dixon was playing with the Colts until he was released on October 29th. In 37 games with the Eagles, Antonio Dixon had 69 tackles and 3 sacks. So we will definitely what Dixon can do versus the Giants on Sunday afternoon as he will most likely be playing.

In addition to these roster moves, the Eagles also added linebacker Marcus Dowtin to the practice squad. The last time Dowtin played was on November 20th with the New York Jets. Dowtin is another special teams player as the Eagles still need to work on that aspect.
