The power play was excellent, the Flyers played hard, and Ilya Bryzgalov played great in goal. If the Flyers can keep doing these simple things, then they will be able to beat any team on any night, especially with the kind of talent they have. While they wait for Scott Hartnell and Wayne Simmonds (who has a concussion) to return, they saw guys farther down on the roster contribute to the 7 goals the Flyers have scored on Friday and Saturday, such as Kurtis Foster, Bruno Gervais, and Mike Knuble. Here are some points from the past two games:

·        Tye McGinn, who got an opportunity to play on the top line, has played very well, screening Cam Ward for Claude Giroux’s goal vs the Canes

·        Danny Briere is starting to look more like himself playing on Giroux’s wing

·        Kurtis Foster has a pretty good shot, as shown with his goal

·        The power play was literally perfect vs. Carolina, 3 for 3

·        Bryzgalov is the best player on the team so far, and that’s how it should be

·        The defense struggled through both games, Luke Schenn in particular looked sub-par

The Flyers next two games:

·        Tuesday at home against the Lightning, 7:30 PM

·        Thursday at home against the Panthers, 7:00 PM
