Today at Foggy Bottom, the La Salle Explorers took on the George Washington Colonials. The Explorers were coming into today’s game with a record of 14-6 after a loss on Wednesday night to the UMass Minutemen.

This possibly looked like an easy game for the Explorers that they should run away with and they did as they were up by as much as 20 points and would go on to win 80-71. The reason why the Explorers were up by so much was because of their three point shooting. La Salle shot 44 percent from the three point line and majority of those three point buckets came from sophomore guard D.J. Peterson.

Peterson had a career high 15 points while shooting 5 for 6 from the three point line. Junior guard Sam Mills also had a solid game with 12 points, three rebounds, and four assists.

For George Washington, they were in this game at the end because of junior forward Isaiah Armwood who had 17 points but hit two key three pointers to keep the Colonials within striking distance. But La Salle would hit their free throws down the stretch and lock up the win.

The Explorers record is now 15-6 and 5-3 in the Atlantic 10. The next time they are in action is on February 9th, when they take on the Fordham Rams at Tom Gola Arena. Game time is set for 2:00 pm ET.
