Sunday afternoon, the Boston Celtics welcomed back Ray Allen as he made his first trip back to the TD Garden since being traded to the Miami Heat. We know that KG has apparently lost his number and doesn’t speak to him anymore because he has became a part of the enemy after having a tough seven game series with the Heat.

Before the game started the Celtics played a tribute video to Ray Allen, as he has done so much for the Boston community. He has been a clutch player late in the 4th quarter and no matter where he shoots the ball, we all knew it would go in. However, that was not the case Sunday Afternoon as he played on the opposing team, the Miami Heat. It was a sea-saw battle back and fourth until the last few minutes of regulation. Lebron James hit a 3 pointer late in the fourth to tie the game up which sent it to overtime tied at 89. At the end of the first OT Paul Pierce contested D. Wade’s shot as he was going for the game winner. However, Wade’s shot fell short and it was now going into Double OT. Double OT was led by the JET (Jason Terry) who was hot off the bench and Paul Pierce who finished the game with a triple double! The final score was 100-98.

The top scorers for the Boston Celtics were The Truth with a triple double, 17 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds. KG finished with a double-double, 24 points, and 11 rebounds. The Jet finished with 13 points and Jeff Green who had an amazing dunk over Chris Bosh had 11 points.

The top scorers for the Miami Heat were Lebron James, who finished with a double-double, 34 points and 16 rebounds. Also, Chris Bosh finished with a double-double, 16 points and 16 rebounds. D. Wade finished with 17 points and 7 assists. Let’s not forget about Ray Allen, who finished with 21 points.

The Celtics played this game without Rajon Rondo who found out he tore his ACL when playing the Atlanta Hawks. Rondo participated in the shoot-around before the game on Sunday but was taken to get an MRI. Rumors were reported before halftime that this would be true but it was confirmed late in the third quarter that Rondo would be out indefinitely. It was a bittersweet day for Boston fans, one to find out you beat the Miami and then found out Rondo is gone for the remainder of the season. Rajon Rondo’s surgery date is to be determined. The Celtics will have to find a way to get through this obstacle! We will still make the playoffs, even if it is the 8th seed! Go Celtics!
