Who said this hasn’t been a wacky year in college basketball? Well it just got wackier as the Penn State Nittany Lions who are the bottom feeders of the Big Ten conference, did the unthinkable tonight and upset the number four ranked team in the nation, the Michigan Wolverines 84-78.

Penn State is not having a good basketball season by all means. They came into tonight’s game 8-18 and 0-14 in the Big Ten. Their fortunes changed tonight as they exacted revenge on Michigan after these teams met 10 days ago and the Wolverines beat them 79-71. Tonight, the Nittany Lions and their fans had the last laugh.

The Wolverines were dominating for most part of the game until late in the second half when Penn State’s junior guard Jermaine Marshall took over and scored a game high 25 points. Another reason why Penn State won was they scored a season high 84 points and hit 10 three pointers. When you do those things in a game you will most likely pull an upset.

The Nittany Lions who now have their first win in conference play will be looking to keep the good times rolling as they take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
