The Philadelphia Union Add Kleberson to the Team

Shockingly, the Philadelphia Union are 2-1 this season and playing good soccer. But even though, they are playing good soccer, they still made a move to help out their roster. The Union acquired Brazilian midfielder Jose Kleberson on a loan and he may not see the field in Saturday’s game but has arrived in the city.

This was a good move for the Union because they only have Kleberson on a one year loan plus they got rid of Freddy Adu’s salary. Adu is now property of Brazilian club Bahia. Adu did not bring much to the Union during his time in Philadelphia; he had good and bad games. He couldn’t rekindle what he brought to the MLS back when he was 16 when he played for DC United.

Union manager John Hackworth says that he wants to take a closer look at Kleberson and there will be no rush for him to get out on the field. Hackworth envisions Jose Kleberson either as an attacking midfielder, a holding mid, or even playing along the flanks, only time will tell.

Before I forget, the Philadelphia Union take on the New York Red Bulls on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 pm ET. The game can be seen on the NBC Sports Network. In this game, the Union should have the upper hand as the Red Bulls are missing their two top forwards in Thierry Henry and Fabian Espindola, who are both out due to injury.
