Eagles Add WR Ifeanyi Momah

As if the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t need anymore help at the wide receiver position, Chip Kelly and company decided to go out and add a tall wide out to the receiving corps. The Eagles signed former Boston College Eagles wide receiver Ifeanyi Momah, who is 6-foot-7 but injury plagued to a three year deal.

The last time Momah played in a game was on September 3rd, 2011 against Northwestern. In that game he caught eight passes for 157 yards. That was the last time he would play a game for BC as he would miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury. Then add on to that, he was out of football last year because he was denied a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. He was draft eligible last year but went undrafted and now he is with the Eagles.

You might be thinking why are the Eagles interested in a tall wide out such as Momah. Well he impressed the Eagles and their scouts as he was ran a 4.4 in the 40. That’s impressive for a player coming off a knee injury and could be an option in Chip Kelly’s offense. Over Momah’s entire college career he had 39 catches for 629 yards and six touchdowns. Those numbers are not impressive.

With the addition of Momah, the Eagles now have 13 wide receivers on the roster and they are: DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, Riley Cooper, Damaris Johnson, Marvin McNutt, B.J. Cunningham, Ron Johnson, Greg Salas, Arrelious Benn, Nick Miller, and DeMarco Sampson. If this doesn’t scream a Chip Kelly offense then I don’t know what does.
