Flyers Forward Max Talbot Out For Season With Broken Leg

The injuries just keep on piling up for the Philadelphia Flyers this season. You can now add forward Max Talbot to the list.  After scoring a goal in last night’s game versus the Washington Capitals, he would suffer a broken leg in the second period as he attempted to lay a hit on Capitals defenseman Mike Green on the boards.

This kind of an injury hurts the Flyers since this weekend they have made up so much ground now only being two points behind the eighth spot. Currently, holding the eighth spot is the New York Rangers with 35 points. The Flyers currently have 33 points and are 12th in the Eastern Conference. This season, Talbot had five goals and 10 points in 35 games. He will be missed on the penalty kill as he help keep the Flyers as the eighth best penalty killing unit this season.

There are 13 games left in this season and the Flyers cannot afford to have anymore injuries. Hopefully they could get a Danny Briere back who has been out indefinitely with a concussion or a Nicklas Grossman who has been out for the past five games with an upper body injury.

The Flyers who need a 12-4 record to make the playoffs are currently 2-1. The road to the playoffs continues on Wednesday, as they face the Montreal Canadiens at the Wells Fargo Center.

Trade Rumor: Multiple reports say that the Flyers and the San Jose Sharks are in talks for LW Ryane Clowe.
