Phillies Vs. Mets Finale Preview

Tomorrow, the Phillies take on the Mets for the series finale at 1:10 pm.  The team will send ace pitcher Cliff Lee to the mound to oppose the Mets all star Matt Harvey.  Harvey has been outstanding for the Mets in his break out season by posting a 2.35 ERA.  He has been one of the best in baseball this season, and the Phillies will have a hard time producing runs.  On the bright side, the Phillies will look to get another good outing out of Lee.  He will look to get his 11th win on the season and get the team above .500 again.

The Phillies lineup has shockingly been on fire, and has broken out of their slump.  The team has scored 17  runs in the first two games of the series.  This is a great sign since they have really struggled to score runs all season long.  If the team can keep this up, and add another solid bat, they could potentially have one of the best lineups of all the teams fighting for a wild card spot.

This is another important series for the Phillies as they will be going for their 5th series win in a row.  For a team that has been written off for most of the year, that is a very impressive streak.  If the bats can keep up their good play of late, and Lee is sharp once again the team should see the streak continue.  The Phillies need to just ignore the media with all of the speculation of what “mode” they are in, and go out and play the best baseball they can.  Like most of their recent games, tomorrow is huge, and will help keep them alive in the division race.
