Mike Vick to get MRI as Kelly shuts down talks of quarterback controversy

Even though, the Philadelphia Eagles won today 36-21 over the New York Giants, starting quarterback Michael Vick did not play in the second half due a hamstring injury.

When Vick went out, the Eagles had a 16-7 lead with about 1:19 left in the first half, then backup quarterback Nick Foles came in and led the birds down the field for an  Alex Henery field goal. In the second half, Vick could not go and that left the rest of the game up to Foles.

Foles went 16 for 25 with 197 passing yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. With Foles playing that started a little murmur about a possible quarterback controversy heading into next week’s game versus the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But quickly, Chip Kelly shot down anything about their being a possible controversy between the two quarterbacks.

Kelly made it very clear since training camp saying, “when picking Vick in August that it was a full season decision.”  But that will not stop the Philadelphia radio shows talking about it this week as they sure will.

Vick is set to get an MRI done on Monday for his hamstring. If Mike Vick is not able to go, then expect Nick Foles to play next Sunday against the Bucs. Shockingly, Foles first win as a quarterback came last season against the Buccaneers where we threw a game winning touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin as time expired.
