2013-14 Los Angeles Lakers Season Preview

Last year, the Lakers finished the season with a solid 45-37 record. They are still an okay team, but they’re very old. You never know what you’re going to get out of them anymore. I still think they can be a very effective team though.

Lakers 2013-14 MVP Prediction: Kobe Bryant: Kobe Bryant is a 35 year old shooting guard for the Lakers. Last year, he averaged 27.3 points, 6 assists, and 5.6 rebounds. He is a really talented player. It’s amazing how he puts up numbers like these at such a high age. Kobe is a very solid player, and I think that will be apparent this season.

3 Players That Lakers Fans Need To Look Out For: 

• Kobe Bryant: Kobe Bryant is a six foot six shooting guard for the Lakers. He is a great player, but he is 35 years old now. He is about due to start declining, and the Lakers would be dead meat without an effective Kobe Bryant. The Lakers need Kobe if they plan on doing anything good this season. It will be interesting to see if his age finally gets to him this year.
• Steve Nash: Last year, Steve Nash averaged 12.7 points, 6.7 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game. He is also 39 years old. This Lakers team is filled with what I like to call, “old farts”. In order for the Lakers to be successful at all this season, all of these old farts will have to scrap together some pretty good efforts. Nash is one of those old farts, and he, being the point guard, is very important to this Lakers team and if his age finally gets to him then this Lakers team is in some big trouble.
• Pau Gasol: Last year, Pau Gasol averaged 13.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. He is 33 years old, too. He is also an old fart. He’s 33 years old. I am fully expecting Gasol to have an effective season this year, because Dwight Howard is no longer with the Lakers and Gasol will now have to take more authority in the paint. If he doesn’t have a good season this year, then the Lakers front-court is going to be in some serious trouble.

2013-14 Lakers Season Prediction: 40-42: This Lakers team is filled with a lot of old players, and their three best players are all over the age of 32. This is troublesome, that’s why I am predicting that they will have a 40-42 record this season.
