All signs lead to Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles starting on Sunday versus the Dallas Cowboys. Many media outlets have already reported that Vick isn’t ready to play yet and that its Foles again this week.

So the question that I am bringing up today is can Nick Foles compete with Tony Romo on Sunday. My answer to this question is no and I’m going to tell you why.

Right now, currently this season, Tony Romo has been playing out of this world. Romo has thrown for 1,693 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions, pretty good numbers for him so far. Remember he also had a great game a couple of weeks ago against the Denver Broncos in which he threw for 506 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception.

When looking at Nick Foles, he has only played in 1 1/2 games this season. In the game versus the New York Giants, Foles came in for an injured Michael Vick in the second quarter and managed the game very well. Foles would throw for 197 yards and two touchdowns. Then in Sunday’s game versus the Buccaneers, he threw for 296 yards, three touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown.

Yes, Nick Foles dominated a weak Giants secondary and then dominated a strong Tampa Bay secondary but I’m not sold on him yet. Both of Foles wins came against teams that do not have a win yet. I want to see him compete with Romo and defeat the Cowboys. Now Foles gets lucky this week because he does not have to go against DeMarcus Ware and the Cowboys secondary isn’t that strong.

But last season against these Dallas Cowboys, Nick Foles struggled. In both games against the Cowboys, Foles threw for 470 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

I just don’t feel comfortable with Foles going toe to toe with Romo. I feel that Romo can destroy the Eagles defense even though they have played better of late but it still has problems. I don’t know if Foles can do that because this is a divisional game and the Cowboys are looking for another win in Philadelphia. Also will his receivers step up like they did last week including Riley Cooper, that is a wait and see.

But what do you think? Do you think Nick Foles can compete with Tony Romo on Sunday? Leave your comments below.
