The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday at 1:00 Eastern Time. Michael Vick will not be the starting Quarterback this Sunday it will be Nick Foles. Foles will have his first real challenge against Dallas, who are cut from a completely different cloth from Tampa Bay. When you think about it, the Cowboys are kind of like the Eagles. The offense can put up a lot of points, and the defense gives up a lot of points. It should really be a good game to watch. The main observation that everyone will be watching is Nick Foles performance, this game will be used to measure his potential as a starter in this league which is already believed to be high. Whether Foles is the future or not this is a must win game. If the Eagles win this game it will put them in the driver seat of the division and they would have a 4-3 record overall. The Giants are still win less at 0-6 and the Washington Redskins have just one win. The Eagles control their own destiny.
The Cowboys are a pretty good team overall but they are missing two key players on the team for multiple weeks. Linebacker Demarcus Ware will be out with a quad injury and is expected to miss at least four weeks. This is huge because he is arguably the best defensive player on the team and is a player that will be missed during the game. His ability to force the quarterback to make quick and tough decisions that cause turnovers will cause problems for the Dallas Cowboys defense that was already struggling. On the offensive side of the ball Wide Receiver Miles Austin missed practice again today with a hamstring injury. It seems as if this is a issue that he deals with every year that prevents this offense from being great. In all seriousnesse know what Miles Austin can do on the football field. He is a great player when healthy and he requires a lot of attention. Also, Running Back Demarco Murray is sidelined this week as well with a Knee injury. This season for the Cowboys, every time he has rushed over 100+ yards the team has won. Definitely a talent that the offense will wish was there.
On the other side of the field their is the Philadelphia Eagles who are really feeling confident right now. Nick Foles will get the start over a injured Michael Vick. This Eagles team is relatively healthy despite the style of play that they have. Jason Peters is expected to play with a shoulder injury. Patrick Chung also expected to play with a shoulder injury as well. This time last year the Eagles offense was destroyed with injuries to offensive line which gave Michael Vick and Nick Foles little to no time to throw the ball. The Offensive line is definitely improved over last year and should continue to get better week after week.
I think the Philadelphia Eagles will win against the Dallas Cowboys in a nail biter football game with a score of 31-28. I believe that Nick Foles will show up and prove that he is the future and that he should be the starter of this offense. This isn’t not to knock off Michael Vick. It’s just his inability to stay healthy for a whole 16 game season hurts this offense that is need of a quarterback so they can build that in game chemistry and keep it consistently. When you really think about it, Nick Foles is more efficient then Michael Vick this year and last year. Last year Foles completed a little bit over 60% of his passes and threw 6/5 touchdown to interception through 7 games. Last year, through 10 games Michael Vick completed 58.9% of his passes and had a 12/10 touchdown to interception ratio with 7 fumbles. This year against Tampa Bay and their impressive revamped secondary Foles was very impressive. I think this week will really show us what we really want to see out of Nick Foles. Which will tell us if he is the future of this team or not. I think he has what it takes to lead this team to victory. We shall see what happens on Sunday.
