Sadly, this game was no contest after the first quarter as the Pelicans were up 34-22 and Anthony Davis had five blocks at that point. This was not the Sixers’ night as they lost 135-98.

Tonight, rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams did not play and Evan Turner had a bad shooting night. Overall, the Sixers had a bad shooting night and broke down defensively numerous times. Evan Turner only had four points on 2 of 11 shooting but other players such as Thad Young and Spencer Hawes also had bad shooting nights.

Tony Wroten again started at point guard for the Sixers as he scored 19 points, while off the bench, Darius Morris scored 20 points in a losing effort.

For the Pelicans, their whole team had their way with the Sixers as Anthony Davis was having his own block party with eight in the game, to go along with his 13 points and 9 rebounds. Former Sixer Jrue Holiday had a very efficient night getting a double-double consisting of 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Chester’s own Tyreke Evans off the bench had 15 points, while Ryan Anderson had 26 points in 27 minutes, and Brian Roberts had 14 points.

One thing the Sixers did right in tonight’s game was continue to play hard but they will not win many games if they continue to have defensive breakdowns.

The road does not get easy for the Philadelphia 76ers as they take on Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night at 8:30 pm ET.
