-Philadelphia
Well, today in Philadelphia where the Eagles took on the Arizona Cardinals, the Eagles offense was put to the test by an elite defense for the first time since the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagle offense performed well and Nick Foles has yet to throw an interception. Nick Foles was 21/34 and he threw for 3 touchdowns off of 237 yards. Foles continued to show the NFL what he can do as he runs Chip Kelly’s up tempo offense. Foles didn’t let the decision that Chip Kelly made to make him the starting quarterback get to him and stayed poise. He makes great decisions and he doesn’t allow the defense to make big plays against his offense as he puts the football in the perfect places. Foles is not the fastest quarterback but he did run 9 times for 22 yards. It seems as if Foles is making a run at MVP and he doesn’t even know it.
It seems that the player that had the most to lose with the quarterback change was LeSean McCoy. McCoy rushed 19 times for 79 yards, he had an okay day. It seems as though the 200 yard games a long gone now that Nick Foles is at quarterback. Shockingly even though he has struggled McCoy is still the leading rusher in the NFL. McCoy is indeed a dual threat running the ball and he can also burn defenses by catching the ball. Five catches for 36 yards was just enough to keep the defense honest. McCoy is a huge part of the offense even if he is struggling; the defense will always have to worry about him on the field.
Zach Ertz had a good day catching 5 passes for 68 yards and 2 touchdowns. He showed what he can do to defenses when called upon. All and all it was a great day for the boys in green. The Eagles win this game 24-21 in a nail biter. Chip Kelly’s offense continues to flourish in the moment taking every opportunity to prove to the NFL that they can win the NFC East and knock off the cowboys at the top of the division. The last four games of the season will be interesting for both the Eagles and the Cowboys as the season ends with the Dallas Cowboys versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
