Just as we hear that the Houston Rockets are done trying to deal Omer Asik, a report comes out, stating that Philadelphia 76ers’ power forward Thaddeus Young has asked Sixers’ general manager Sam Hinkie for a trade. This was first reported by Jake Fischer of Liberty Ballers.
Source: Weeks before his name came up in Omer Asik trade talk, Thaddeus Young submitted a formal trade request to the #Sixers weeks ago.

You might read this and think that Young demanded a trade, but no, Fischer was clear to state that it was just a request.
DISCLAIMER: Thaddeus Young did not demand a trade. He requested the #Sixers trade him to a winning situation.

Young is not happy with the 76ers right now, because he wants to be a part of a winning team, and it’s obvious that the 76ers are not the team for him at the moment.
If the 76ers do trade Young, which seems very likely, then they will certainly get a good return for him. His salary matches his playing ability and he’s signed for multiple years, so his contract is definitely not a problem. He’s only 25 years old, too. The 76ers should have no problem with trading him. He will most likely be dealt to a good team if the 76ers do decide to move him, so I would expect to get a late first round pick in return for him. The 2014 draft class is stacked, and any first round pick is good to have.
