Well this is a big blow to Dallas Cowboys fans across the country. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is out for rest of the season due to a back injury.

This hurts a lot as the Cowboys are playing the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17 for the right to go to the playoffs and win the NFC East. If you remember in yesterday’s game versus the Washington Redskins, Romo came up limping in the second half. We don’t know what the injury exactly was but it could have been his back that was bothering him.

For the Cowboys, it seems as if Kyle Orton will be getting the start on Sunday night against the Eagles. Here is an interesting Kyle Orton stat from Sheil Kapadia of Birds 24/7.

For the Philadelphia Eagles, they cannot treat this game like the Minnesota game a couple of weeks ago or they will not win the NFC East on Sunday Night Football.

Update on Romo’s injury from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen:
