1. Peyton Manning
There’s not a doubt in the world about this one. Manning has set the record for most touchdowns in a season (51) and needs 266 yards on Sunday to set the record for the most passing yards in a single season. In a quarterback driven league, Manning might be having the best season of any signal caller in the history of the NFL.
2. Russell Wilson
In 31 regular season games, Russell Wilson has a career record of 23-8. At home, he has only lost one time in almost two full seasons. Those two stats are insane! The Seahawks have a clear path to the Superbowl this season, and if I was forced to bet on one team, the Seahawks would be that team.
3. Jamaal Charles
Jamaal Charles has 1,980 yards from scrimmage this season, and in all probability, he will exceed the 2,000 yards mark this Sunday. With 19 touchdowns receiving and rushing, Charles has been the best non-quarterback this season.
4. LeSean McCoy
LeSean McCoy will likely have the most rushing yards at the end of the season, but there is only one reason I place Jamaal Charles ahead of him: Nick Foles and Alex Smith. Defenses playing the Eagles will try to shut down both McCoy and Nick Foles, but Kansas City’s opponents can focus on Charles, knowing that it’s better to let Alex Smith beat them throwing the football.
5. Nick Foles
The second Eagle on this list has the highest passer rating of any quarterback this season (118.7). He still falls behind the other quarterbacks because the other two have better records, and Foles has only played in 12 games this season (started in 9). Though I’d expect his production to continue over a full season, that can’t be assumed.
