The Cleveland Cavaliers have suspended center Andrew Bynum indefinitely because of conduct detrimental to the team.
Here’s what those close to Bynum have said on the situation:
Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving: “It’s a terrible situation internally with our team. It’s something we have to get over.”
Cavaliers coach Mike Brown: “I’m worried about the guys in the locker room. It’s simple as that. In our business, there are a lot of ups and downs throughout the season. So what you do as a head coach is keep moving forward. Any time you look back on anything or dwell on anything, is wasted energy from the guys in the locker room, which is obviously very important.”
Bynum was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers after the 2011-2012 season. He spent the entire 2012-2013 season with the 76ers, but he didn’t play one game with them because there were many setbacks with his injured knees. After his season with the 76ers, he signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Bynum is averaging 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds with the Cavaliers this season, but all of those stats were accumulated before the time of the suspension.
This is not good news if you’re a fan of the Cavaliers. He was playing really well for them, but now he’s suspended indefinitely. The Cavaliers are now trying to trade him, but I doubt that any team really wants him. He’s a terrible person to have in the locker room and he’s not even that good of a player anymore.
