Out of Carrollton, Texas, Jamal Adams committed to LSU during the Under Armour All-American game. Adams is the number three ranked safety in the nation and ranked 23rd overall according to ESPN. Adams’ father, George Adams played in the NFL for the NY Giants and the New England Patriots. He was drafted in the 1985 NFL Draft in round one with the 19th pick. Adams is a 6-foot, 204 lbs defensive back who plays physical and is very smart on the field. He runs a 4.48 40 yard dash and has tremendous zone coverage.

The SEC has always been the conference Adams wanted to play in because of the talent that its produced. The University of Florida, Ole Miss, LSU, and Texas was his top schools. Adams Godfather Joker Phillips is the recruiting coordinator at UF and it was a tough decision to not commit there for Adams.

“My experience been a blessing, just getting all of this gear, competing with the top guys, and being recognized as one,” said Adams.

Adams is all-around football player who can play on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. He will most likely play the safety position and can possibly see the field. LSU strong Safety Craig Loston will be entering the 2014 NFL Draft so that leaves an opening for a starting position. Adams could make an instant impact on following the footsteps of Tyrann Mathieu, Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne, and Eric Reid. With Adams smart instincts and great run support, LSU should be very excited for their future from him.
