My NFC/AFC Championship Game Predictions

dallas

There are only three more games left in the NFL season. Two of them will occur this Sunday. Of course I am talking about “Championship Sunday,” the day which the two Super Bowl contenders will be determined. We couldn’t have asked for two better matchups for this Sunday. The Brady-Manning rivalry is being relived again as the Denver Broncos will host the New England Patriots at 3 p.m. Then we have perhaps the best rivalry in the NFC, which is the San Francisco 49ers going on the road to take on the Seattle Seahawks at 6:30. Both of these games are very intriguing and many people in the media have different opinions on who will win each game. Since everyone has different opinions on these two games, I will give my own opinions and predictions of who will win Sunday’s championship games.

AFC: Patriots vs. Broncos

Many people thought that when Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning left the Indianapolis Colts a few years ago, the Brady-Manning era was over. It looks like those people were wrong. These two quarterbacks are still two of the best in the game and they are once again facing each other for the right to represent the AFC in this year’s Super Bowl. Brady is known to get the better of Manning’s team, as he owns a 10-4 record against teams with Manning as their quarterback. But, I don’t necessarily think this game will be much about Brady vs. Manning. Both defenses are not very dominant, so whoever’s defense stands taller may have the advantage in this matchup. Both teams also have great offenses, so it may be a high-scoring affair. I also think home-field will play an advantage in this game. The Patriots are used to having home-field advantage basically every year during the playoffs. The Broncos have home-field this time around and that may be the deciding factor. I like the Broncos to win and advance to the Super Bowl.

Broncos 35, Patriots 30.

NFC: 49ers vs. Seahawks

It seems like everyone is hyping up the Broncos-Patriots matchup and no one is talking about the NFC Championship game between the 49ers and Seahawks. If I had to pick the two best teams from the NFC, it would definitely be these two powerhouses. The two teams split their regular season matchups as the home team won each time. This matchup also features two of the best defenses in the whole league. Even though both defenses are dominant, I see offense playing a bigger part in this game. The team that plays better offensively should win. The 49ers may be the hottest team in the NFC and the Seahawks may be the overall best team in the conference, so picking this game is a bit tough. 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been playing very efficiently, while Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has been his usual consistent self. Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch looked great last week, so he figures to play a significant role in this game. Like I said, picking this game is tough. But, I’m going with my gut feeling here and taking the 49ers to beat the Seahawks and face the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

49ers 24, Seahawks 20.
