As the season continues for the Philadelphia 76ers, they are still looking for players to build around for next season and seasons to come. In fact, they are looking for role players that can step right in and produce.
According to RealGM, league sources have told them that the Sixers will be working out NBA D-Leaguers Darius Johnson-Odom, James Nunnally, Kevin Murphy, and Scott Suggs on Tuesday.
What is the similarity between all these players? They can all score and put the ball in the basket. Taking a look at each player, Darius Johnson-Odom is the name that stands out to me the most.
Johnson-Odom is currently ranked second in the NBA D-League’s Prospect Watch list and deservedly so. This season for the Springfield Armor, Johnson-Odom is averaging 22.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game.
He was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th overall pick. Johnson-Odom did get chance to play with the Lakers for four games but he has spent his entire basketball career so far with the Los Angeles D-Fenders and now the Armor.
Finally, do not look past the other players that will be working out for the Sixers as they are good too. James Nunnally, who plays for the Texas Legends is ranked fifth on the NBA D-League Prospect Watch, while Kevin Murphy comes in at sixth and Scott Suggs, who is not on the list but is averaging 17.7 points per game.
