Philadelphia Soul: Flipping The Script

For the first time in team history the Philadelphia Soul started the season 0-3. Soul ended the three game skid after a dominating 69-56 victory over the Orlando Predators who fall to 3-2.

Dan Raudabaugh led the Soul up and down the field completing an amazing 20-of-22 pass attempts (90%) which is AFL record set by Soul Head Coach Clint Dolezel. He also threw for 254 yards and seven touchdowns, Raudabaugh was the OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME.  Soul Wide-out Ryan McDaniel caught nine passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns.  Derrick Ross added two rushing touchdowns.

The Predators were led by Quarterback Jason Boltus who finished with 23-of-46 completions for 348 yards and eight touchdowns with an interception.  Wide-out Greg Carr, evening was cut short in the final quarter for fight, had seven receptions for 154 yards and four touchdowns. Khalil Paden added six catches for 90 yards and three touchdowns.

Throughout the first quarter each team would trade scores resulting in an 14-14 tie at the end of the first. The Soul would break the game open in the second quarter as they scored on three consecutive drives blowing the game open 35-14. Soul outscored Orlando 27-14 in the quarter. The dagger that sealed the victory for the Soul was on their first play of the second half a 34-yard pass from Dan Raudabaugh to Anthony Jones.

The Soul look to continue their winning ways as they take on the Jacksonville Sharks in the home opener at The Wells Fargo Center on Saturday April 19th in Philadelphia, PA, Kickoff is set for 7;30 P.M. on ESPN 3. This is the re-match of the previous two American Conference Championship games.
