The Vancouver Canucks’ season is over but they are still looking for ways to improve their team. That doesn’t necessarily mean player personnel but it does mean the front office.
According to Iain MacIntyre of the Vancouver Sun, he is hearing that Ron Hextall is in the mix for the GM job. Hextall would be an interesting choice as he is currently the Philadelphia Flyers assistant general manager and director of hockey operations.
Another reason why Hextall is hot commodity is because he has experience being in the Western Conference. He was apart of the Los Angeles Kings’ front office for seven years and within that time frame they won the Stanley Cup in 2012. Funny enough during those years, the Kings were called Flyers West as many former players were apart of that organization.
Hextall has said he does want to be a general manager. To leave you thinking here is another tweet from Iain MacIntyre:
Still believe Benning is #Canucks‘ 1st choice. But Hextall, with mgmt dues paid under good GMs,would be interesting candidate.
