Thaddeus Young could be playing small forward next season

With the Philadelphia 76ers’ season ending last night with a victory over the playoff bound Miami Heat, it is time for Brett Brown and Sam Hinkie to sit down and make some decisions regarding players on the roster.

The Sixers finished the season 19-63 and there were not many bright spots on this team. On the other hand, veteran Thaddeus Young, the longest tenured Sixer on the roster was a bright spot. Young, who was brought up in trade rumors is a leader on this team and Brett Brown thinks he could play another position and a bigger role.

According to Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times, head coach Brett Brown thinks Young could be an option at the 3/SF position. This season, Young played the power forward position and played well being a stretch four rather than a post up player.

Young, this season averaged 17.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. All of those numbers except rebounds are career highs for him.

I think Young could be very solid at the small forward position as he can pose matchup problems for opposing players and be a facilitator on offense.
