LeBron James and the Miami Heat cruised by the Charlotte Bobcats during their third meeting this series of the NBA Playoffs winning 98-85. The Heat now have a 3-0 lead over the Bobcats, needing just one more win to completely sweep the series. However, what made this particular game so interesting was not only Miami’s win, but LeBron’s famous highlight of the game.
During the third quarter Bobcats Forward Josh McRoberts lost control of the ball making it an easy steal for James. Once James steals the ball he sprints down the court, and within seconds James becomes airborne while staring into Bobcats Owner Michael Jordan’s direction as he ascended towards the basket.
Now, this wasn’t a “Hi, my name is LeBron”, friendly stare. This was more of so a “pack your bags up Jordan, your team is going home”, stare. Or, was it a “I’m the greatest”, Muhammad Ali stare? Only LeBron knows the true meaning of his stare. Of course, after the game James denied staring down Jordan during his big dunk. “No, no. Don’t start that. Absolutely not, man. Absolutely not. I was able to read McRoberts, get a steal and push the lead back up. I absolutely didn’t look at MJ, for sure.”
It’s true that LeBron James and Michael Jordan did have their exchange of words in the past. But, in all reality no one will ever see the two phenomenal players play one on one. At the end of the game James finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assist. He now has 89 points in three games this series.
Of course, Jordan went six-for-six in the NBA Finals in the ’90s with the Bulls. Absolutely, no one including LeBron can take that away from Jordan, nor has the right too. LeBron made it clear that he has his own goals to achieve during his basketball career.
