Miami Heat sweep Charlotte Bobcats

The Miami Heat brought out their brooms tonight as they swept away the Charlotte Bobcats with a 4-0 series winning 109-98 Monday night. LeBron James finished with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists; despite a horrific blow to his leg in the third quarter. During that challenging incident James was able to stay strong and finish out the game. He mentioned, “It’s definitely something I don’t want anybody to feel, when you get a knee to the quad. The thigh is definitely sore. Fortunately enough, we were able to close it out tonight and get some rest.” Chris Bosh added 17 points and Dwyane Wade finished with 15 points as the Heat extended their winning streak over the Bobcats to 20 games.

Although, the Miami Heat are very grateful for their win they do not take it for granted. Head coach Erik Spoelstra said, “This does not get old and we do not take it for granted, having the opportunity to move on to another round. We were very pleased that we’re able to move on and we’re not jaded enough that we don’t enjoy the process.”

At this time preparation is key for the team. Dwyane elaborated on the series, and explained how now is the time to prepare for their next game. “I don’t think any of us know what to expect from that series. Two different styles. We did what we were supposed to do, and that’s take care of business. Now we have to make sure we’re ready for Game 1.”

As the Heat take in this win they will soon prepare themselves for the winner of the best-of-seven first round series between the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors who are tied 2-2 in the series. The Heat were 4-0 against the Raptors this season and 0-4 against the Nets. Although the Nets swept the Heat during the regular season with a 4-0 run, the Heat were not one-hundred percent at that time due to lack of healthy players. For what they’ve showed within this 4-0 series sweep against the Bobcats, they are extremely healthy and ready to take on their next match. Let’s all try to stay optimistic about this phenomenal series that may or may not occur.

The Bobcats put up a fight every step of the way in all four games. They played without their leading scorer and  rebounder Al Jefferson who suffered a foot injury in the first game of the series. However, Kemba Walker finished with 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting playing tough not only Monday night, but throughout the series. “At the same time it’s our first go-around in the playoffs for a lot of us and we can only go up from here,” Walker said. That’s a great attitude to have for the inexperienced Bobcats team.

The Miami Heat will take in their 4-0 sweep against the Bobcats Monday night, and then soon prepare for their future contender for the next series.
