The Philadelphia Phillies who just swept the Atlanta Braves earlier this week are also getting back third baseman Cody Asche. According to CSNPhilly.com’s Jim Salisbury, Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said that Asche will be activated tomorrow.

This comes as great news because with Asche coming back that now puts Cesar Hernandez and Reid Brignac back on the bench as it gets an upgrade. Asche was sidelined for nearly a month with a strained left hamstring. During his rehab assignment, he played games with Class-A Lakewood and Triple-A Lehigh Valley. With both teams, Asche was tearing the ball off the cover.
In three games with Lakewood, Asche hit .429 with two home runs and five RBIs and in Lehigh Valley; he played in two games hitting .833 with one home run and four RBIs.
If Asche can continue to swing a hot bat as the team is currently beginning a four game series with the St. Louis Cardinals, the Phillies could split this series with the Cards or even win it with Michael Wacha to miss his start on Sunday.
