With the New Orleans Pelicans only having one draft selection in this year’s NBA Draft, Russ Smith. The Pelicans summer league roster is filled with veterans and undrafted rookies. One of those rookies has made an impact already and that is former Florida Gator big man Patric Young.
So far in the Las Vegas Summer League, Young is averaging 10.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. With that kind of production three games in, the Pelicans have rewarded the young man with a two-year contract according to David Pick of Eurobasket.
New Orleans Pelicans, I’m hearing, extended a two-year offer to Summer League center Patric Young.

Young definitely deserves the offer as today against the Spurs he performed very well. He scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds in 30 minutes of game action.
Patric Young can add some more depth to the Pelicans frontcourt as they already have Anthony Davis, Alexis Ajinca, Al-Farouq Aminu, and Jeff Withey.
