Jeremy Maclin leaves practice early after hamstring tweak

This week, the Philadelphia Eagles are having joint practices with the New England Patriots in preparation for their game on Friday night. The leading story from these joint practices is how Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has been performing against the likes of Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis.

According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Maclin had his way in yesterday’s practice against Revis as he drew three holding penalties on the corner. McLane also added that Maclin continued “to toast” Revis, which for Eagles fans and coaches alike you love to hear that.

Even though Maclin had a good day yesterday, he didn’t have a good one today as he left practice early with a tweaked left hamstring. Despite, tweaking his hamstring, Maclin still hopes to play on Friday night. Finally, another precautionary tidbit from today is that McLane reports that Maclin was icing his right knee after practice, which was the same knee that he tore his ACL.

None of these precautionary measures should be a warning sign as Maclin has stayed healthy so far through practice and the first preseason game. I’m interested to see how he and the Eagles first team offense look against the Patriots defense.
