This weekend, all eyes in the world of performance fitness will be on St. Cloud, Minnesota at the 2014 Granite Games. This competition, held every September/October will draw some of the biggest names in the Crossfit community. Over 1,100 athletes are expected to compete. This competition is on the same level as The Crush Games that took place earlier this summer.

In order to get to the games, athletes had to complete several qualifier workouts in a format similar to The Crossfit Games. This was to ensure the most elite athletes made it to the main competition this weekend.

Two of the favorites to win the Granite Games this year are Stacie Tovar for the Individual Women and Matthew Fraser** for the Individual Men. 2013 Crossfit Games champion Sam Briggs will also be competing. Both athletes won the Crush Games earlier this summer as well.

More updates to come as the games get underway this weekend.

**Matt Fraser set a 315 snatch personal record this week. We are talking Olympic level power. He took second at this year’s Crossfit Games.
