The second NFC East showdown for the Birds completely belonged to the men in black as the Eagles shut out the New York Giants by the final score of 27-0.

As a team that has been regarded as the comeback kids, the Eagles could barely have played a better first half than the one tonight. On the opening drive of the game, the Eagles moved quickly down the field before settling for a 31-yard Cody Parkey field goal.

After the first score, the Eagles defense began to play some of their best football of the season. The defense completely terrorized Eli Manning and the Giants offense, forcing them to punt after a Connor Barwin sack and strip. The sack would be the first of two for Barwin in the first half and one of five for the Eagles in the half. The Eagles would even record three sacks on a single drive.

On the offensive side of the ball, LeSean McCoy looked to have found the spark he was looking for all season as he rushed for 85 yards in the first half alone. Shady would finish the game with a season-high 149 yards.

Quarterback Nick Foles also got off to a hot start throwing a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz and a 26-yarder to James Casey. Foles finished the half 14/22 for 177 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

The second half for the Eagles offense started off with another Foles interception, however the defense kept Manning and the Giants from scoring. Wide receiver Victor Cruz would not be able to haul in the catch and in the act would tear his patellar tendon.

The offense would eventually get back on track as running back Darren Sproles would find the endzone for a 15-yard touchdown. Sproles would later leave the game with an apparent knee injury but would be able to walk off the field and into the locker room under his own power.

The Eagles defense kept the downward spiral going for the Giants defense, keeping them from putting up any points and even forcing a late fumble to seal the win.

Following this huge win the Eagles will head into the bye week before continuing their tough schedule and looking to keep adding to the win column.
